Be Well Hub — Listening, Leadership & Belonging

The Be Well Hub is inspired by the Citizens UK approach and the South London Listens initiative under the NHS. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space where community members being learned and practice active listening, emotional awareness, and empathetic leadership—going beyond sympathy to truly understand lived experiences.

Sessions focus on hearing without fixing, valuing diverse voices, and building trust within the Hong Konger and wider Sutton community. By strengthening listening skills and collective care, the Hub helps reduce isolation, challenge stigma around mental health, and empower volunteers to support others with confidence, dignity, and respect.

Be Well Café — Learn, Share & Practise

The Be Well Café is a monthly, informal gathering for volunteers and community members to connect, reflect, and grow together. It offers a relaxed environment to practise skills learned from workshops — such as listening, wellbeing awareness, and peer support—while sharing experiences and mutual encouragement.

Through guided conversations, learning bites, and peer exchange, the Café nurtures wellbeing, resilience, and friendship. It strengthens community bonds and creates a sense of belonging, making learning practical, human, and rooted in everyday life.
